DEFENCE FORCES HAS DIGNITY AND RESPECT



Home Minister Ravi Naik has said, career in Defence Forces has always had a place of dignity and respect amongst the youth and stressed the need to bring awareness among the youth on options available, service conditions and quality of life in the defence services. Shri Naik was speaking after inaugurating the Career Guidance workshop organized by the Ex-NCC Cadets Association-Goa, in Association with Ameya Vidhyaprasarak Mandal's Dada Vaidya Higher Secondary School, at Curti, Ponda on August 23, 2008. Commander Utpal Dutta and Lady Capt. A. K. Daruwalla, a Corps of Signals (Army) were the faculties. Shri Madhav Sahakari, Chairman of the Ameya Vidhya Prasarak Mandal . Shri John Aguiar, President of Ex-NCC Cadets Association-Goa, Dy. S.P. Shri Mahesh Gaonkar were also present. Principal of the HSS Shri Diogo D'Souza welcomed. Project Manager Shri Kamlakant Parab proposed a vote of thanks.

EX-NCC CADETS URGED TO JOIN CIVIL DEFENCE

The Ministry of Home Affairs has taken a decision to enroll Ex-NCC Cadets in the Civil Defence Organization in the States as Ex-NCC cadets is a readily available trained manpower having three years of military training. The matter has been discussed by the Deputy Commandant General of Home Guards and Deputy Director Civil Defence Shri D. K. Sawant with President of Ex-NCC Cadets Association- Goa, Shri John Aguiar. Shri Aguiar has therefore urged all the Ex-NCC Cadets from Civil Defence categorized towns from Mormugao and Panaji to collect the forms from the Home Guards and Civil Defence Organisation at Police Head Quarters, Panaji and enroll themselves as Civil Defence volunteers to sever the Nation.

Calling on the Chief Minister

The Office bearers of the Ex-NCC Cadets Association-Goa called on the Chief Minister Shri Digambar Kamat at his official residence at Altinho, Panaji after the General Body meeting in September 2007, and discussed the activities conducted by the Association. Shri Kamat who was himself an active NCC cadet during his college days evinced keen interest in the association and assured his support to the activities which are conducted by the association. He said that he favours to make NCC compulsory for the students as it gives the individual confidence and imbibes leadership qualities. The members comprised the President of the Association, Shri John Aguiar, Vice President Shri Keshav Prabhu, Secretary Shri Vijay Saxena and Members Adv. Avinash Bhonsle, Shri Ganesh Gauns and Shri Devendra Dongrikar. They informed the Chief Minister about their plan for a peace yatra from Goa to Wagah Border with peace message from Goa. The Chief Minister appreciated the idea. The members also informed Mr. Kamat who that visit the Annual training camps of NCC and stay in the tents to remember their past days.

EX-NCC "Navhind" Achievement awards -2007



The EX-NCC Cadet's Association-Goa presented achievement awards to the past NCC cadets on June 29, 2007, for their dedication to the work.The awards were presented to Adv. Atmaram Nadkarni, Dy. SP ShriMahesh Gaonkar, Dr.Nitish Kerkar, Dr. Susana D'Souza, Shri Vithaldas Hegde, Shri Navin Acharya, Shri Vijay Kalangutkar, Ms. Verma D' Mello, Dr. Jayant Budkuley, Prince Aron and Ms. Leena Prabhuand. His Excellency, the Governor of Goa Shri S. C. Jamir was the Chief Guest. Ms. Pallavi Dhempe was the guest of honour. President Shri John Aguiar, Project Manager Shri Pradip Sawant, Secretry Shri Vijay Saxena, Shri Pralhad Mayekar, Shri Pratap Parab, Dr. Pramod Yadav were also present.

Satish, Mrs. Sally Quadros, Adv. Prakash Naik and Dr. Edward D'Lima. Dr. Wilfred de Souza was the Cheif Guest. Ms. Pallavi Dhempe was the guest of honour.
